Cookie Policy
Last updated: 24 July 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Avorgate LLC ("Company", "we", "us" and "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit braveboundbooks.com (the "Website"). It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and how you can control them. Read it together with our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work better, and to provide reporting information. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are first-party cookies; cookies set by anyone else are third-party cookies, and they can recognise your device on other websites too.
Websites also use related technologies that do a similar job — local storage (data kept in your browser) and pixels or web beacons (tiny invisible images used to tell whether a page was viewed or an email was opened). In this policy, "cookies" covers all of these.
The cookies we use
We group cookies into the categories below. Everything except the first category is set only if you consent — and where the law requires consent, nothing in those categories runs until you give it.
| Category | Consent | Who sets them | What they do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Always on | BraveBound Books, Termly, Supabase, Stripe | Make the site work: remembering your cookie choices, keeping you signed in to your account, processing your payment securely, and protecting forms against abuse. The site cannot do what you asked without these, so they cannot be switched off. |
| Performance and functionality | With your consent | BraveBound Books | Remember choices you make — such as details you entered — so you don’t have to repeat yourself. Without these, some conveniences stop working, but the site still functions. |
| Analytics | With your consent | Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics | Tell us how many people visit, which pages they read and where they leave, so we can improve the site. We look at these as aggregated trends, not to build a profile of you. |
| Advertising | With your consent | Meta (Facebook, Instagram), Google Ads, Pinterest | Measure whether our ads actually lead to orders, and let us show ads to people likely to be interested — including people who visited this site before. These may be used to build a profile of your interests across websites. |
| Social networking | With your consent | Meta, Pinterest | Let you share our pages on social networks, and let those networks measure that sharing. They may also be used for advertising. |
Want to know exactly what is running right now? Open the cookie preferences panel: it lists the cookies currently in each category. If a category shows no cookies, we are not setting any of that type at the moment — for example because the tool in question is not switched on. The panel is always the accurate, up-to-the-minute picture.
How can you control cookies?
You can accept or refuse non-essential cookies at any time from the cookie preferences panel, category by category. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be refused, because the site would not work without them. You can change your mind whenever you like — the link is always in the footer.
We also honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where applicable: if your browser or an extension sends it, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising. See globalprivacycontrol.org.
Separately, most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their own settings — look for "Cookies" or "Privacy". Blocking everything will affect how this and other sites work: you may not be able to stay signed in or complete a purchase.
For advertising cookies specifically, these industry pages let you opt out across many companies at once:
- Digital Advertising Alliance (US)
- Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada
- European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance
Third parties
The third parties named above set their own cookies under their own privacy policies, and we do not control them. When you pay, you are handled by Stripe — we never see or store your card number. Our consent banner is provided by Termly. The full list of providers that process data on our behalf is in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy — for example if we start using new tools, or for legal or regulatory reasons. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
